Djaj Mishwe (Lebanese Baked Chicken)

 

Ingredients:

 

12 to 15 pieces of chicken (Legs and thighs work well)

1 clove garlic

1 tsp salt

½ cup olive oil

1 tsp Arabic allspice (Found at your local leb store)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ cup fresh lemon juice

paprika

 

Directions:

 

1.       Crush garlic in salt. Combine with spices, lemon juice and oil.

2.       Marinate chicken in garlic mixture for at least 1 hour or overnight.

3.       Place chicken in roasting pan, sprinkle with paprika.

4.       Cover with aluminum foil and bake in preheated 400-degree oven for 40 minutes.

5.       Remove foil, and then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 30 minutes until chicken is browned.
